Steven Andrew Paugh, 69, of Weston passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. His mother Cora Vanpelt welcomed him to the world on January 28, 1950 in Weston. On July 16, 1993 he married the love of his life, Patty Moore Paugh.

They were inseparable for the nearly 26 years of their marriage. Steve was a proud Veteran of the United States Army who served his country in the Vietnam War. He loved the outdoors of Almost Heaven and returned to his home of WV after his military service.

He worked at the Weston State Hospital, was a groundskeeper for Burnsville Lake, and detailed cars for Mountain State Auto Auction. He was known for his legendary sense of humor and his unwavering stubbornness. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Those keeping his memory alive are his wife, Patty; two children: Steven Paugh Jr., and Christina Mowery and husband, Todd, both of Weston; two grandchildren: Brandon Mowery and Elizabeth Pratt; five step-daughters: Melissa Smith and husband, Ronald, Tracy Shank and husband, Nick, Stacy Thompson, Lisa Poling and Felicia Wiant; and 12 step-grandchildren: Zachari Landars, Alivia Landers, Kylee Tenney, Abigail Smith, Hunter Edwards, Haley Jordan, Emily Jordan, Logan Bontrager, Andrew Wiant , Alexis Wiant, Cody Hafferty and Erika Hafferty. Preceding Steve in death are his mother and younger brother, Bobby Paugh.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Pat Boyle Funeral Home located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 2-5 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 5 p.m. in the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chad Metz officiating. Following the funeral Steven’s request for cremation will be honored.
