Steven William Weller, age 61, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Steve was born on January 10, 1957 in St. Louis, MO, a son of the late William E. Weller Jr. and Betty Lou (Woodward) Weller. Steve worked as a mechanic for Waste Management for over 25 years.

He was a member and past president of the Venice Social Club in Pontoon Beach, IL. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in New Douglas, IL, Ainad Temple in East St. Louis, IL, International Order of Odd Fellows in Granite City, IL and Amvets Post 51 in Madison, IL. Steve could fix or build anything he put his mind to; he even built many industrial barbeque grills for many businesses and organizations in the area.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, skeet shooting and socializing. Steve never met a stranger and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

Steve loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving children, Tracy (Jon) Hutchings of Alton, IL and Melissa Weller of Granite City, IL; dear siblings, Frances (Brian Caughlan) Weller-Caughlan of Springfield, IL, Judy (Bob) Tatum of Granite City, IL, Robert Weller of East Alton, IL and Gerald Weller of Sparta, IL; grandchildren, Andrew Sechrest, Adam Sechrest, Brett Hutchings, Jordan Hutchings and Matthew Young; many nieces, nephews, extended family and many wonderful friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL. In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL.

Memorial donations may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children or to Granite City A.P.A. Donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www. irwinchapel.com.
