Obituary for Susan R. Abraham Susan Ruth Abraham (née Johnson) 1959 – 2018 Susan Ruth Abraham (née Johnson), age 58, a long-time resident of Royal Oak, Michigan, passed away September 3, 2018. She was born in Royal Oak on November 14, 1959 to Leonard and Lila Johnson (née Jones), of Huntington Woods. She married David Abraham on June 6, 1983 in Huntington Woods.

A 1977 graduate of Berkley High school, Sue earned degrees from Oakland Community College (ABA 1988), Walsh College (BBA 1994), and Oakland University (MAT 2008). She was an avid reader and enjoyed sharing that love with others. Actively involved in Royal Oak soccer, Boy Scouts, and community activities, Sue found her calling as a well-loved and respected teacher with Royal Oak Schools.

She had an incredible empathy for all students, nurturing them to achieve their full potential while also developing their decision-making skills. She was awarded a Community of Excellence Award by the Royal Oak Schools Board of Education. She is survived by her beloved husband, children Ben, Dan (Marta Mateu), siblings Douglas (Joyce) Johnson, Steven (Gayle) Johnson, Paul (Gloria) Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.

Family, friends, colleagues, and students are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Royal Oak Middle School Auditorium, 709 N. Washington Ave. , Royal Oak, on Friday, September 7 at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
