Obituary for Susan S. Christiansen Saginaw Twp. , Michigan Loving mother and grandmother passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 with her loved ones at her side. Age 77 years.

The daughter of the late Howard and Jess (Grant) DeHaan, Susan was born on April 25, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She married Terrence Christiansen on February 23, 1961. He predeceased her on January 23, 2004.

Susan worked in retail sales most of her life and retired in 2012. She enjoyed taking walks, doing crossword puzzles, cheering for the Tigers, University of Michigan and Michigan State University sports, but most of all spending time with her granddaughters. Surviving are one son, Thomas Christiansen and one daughter, Kelly Christiansen; two granddaughters, Kelsey and Hannah; two siblings, Michael (Carmen) DeHaan and Julie DeHaan; she also leaves to cherish her memory a special friend, pal and buddy, Ed Boshaw “Go Pat’s” and her canine companion, Maggie.

Honoring Mrs. Christiansen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will take place at 1:00 p.m. with a luncheon to follow at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Apple Mountain, 4519 N. River Road, Freeland. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial to the American Cancer Society.
