Obituary of Susan Parks Susan L. Parks, 69, of Salisbury died peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on March 8, 1949 in Rector, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Layer and Von Dell Cox Dawson. Mrs. Parks was a devoted member of the Women of the Moose SalisburChapter #1208 since joining the organization in 1983.

During her 35 years of membership, Susan held many higher degrees. She also held a Women of the Moose International Degree as the Past Deputy Grand Regent from 2005-2006. Susan was also a member of the Maryland Classified Employees Association for 38 years.

Susan retired from Salisbury University after 38 years of service as a Program Management Specialist. In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Parks. Susan is survived by her two sons; David Parks and his wife Eva of Pittsville and Brian H. Parks and his fiancé Michelle of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Jessie Parks (Amy), Erika Kissinger (Jesse), Danny Parks (Julia) and Brittney Zickafoose (Eric); five great-grandchildren, Skye, Carter and Madeline Parks and Emersyn and Evelyn Kissinger; her step-mother, Wanda Layer of Arkansas; six siblings, Charlotte Layer Mills (Gary) of MD, Thomas A. Dawson, Jr. of MD, Andrea Johnson (Mark) of MD, Allison Broadbent (Chris) of VA, Matthew Dawson (Penny) of MD and Sondra Layer Lowe of AR as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Wicomico Memorial Park.
