Obituary for Terrell Gene McPherson Terrell Gene McPherson, age 83, of the Sulphur Lick Community passed away Thursday, May 31 at his residence on his Sulphur Lick farm surrounded by his loved ones following an illness. He was born May 23, 1935 in Monroe County, Kentucky to the late Lee McPherson and Nellie Hamilton McPherson. He was co-owner of T & K Dairy in the Sulphur Lick community.
Aside from his work on the farm he was an avid golfer and also enjoyed playing Softball on the Sulphur Lick Softball team. He was also a long time member of the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ.
Earlier on in his life he also served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Frances Price McPherson; one daughter: Jill Nixon and husband J.P of Bowling Green, two sons: Kenny Lee McPherson and wife Stacey of the Sulphur Lick Community and Joseph Terrell McPherson and wife Becky of Montclaire, Virginia, as well as seven grandchildren: Spencer Nixon, Kaelin Lee McPherson, Kendall McPherson Brown and husband Ethan, Klaire McPherson, Justin Joseph McPherson, Jessica Faith McPherson, Anna Grace McPherson. Pallbearers will be Jack Hays, Jim Hays, Kaelin McPherson, Justin McPherson, Johnny Paul Nixon, Ethan Brown, and Spencer Nixon.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Birge, Doug McPherson, Clay Hundley, Bill McClendon, Wendell Nixon, Veachel Harlan, Jamie Woods, Gary Copas, Clay Finley, Timmy Gillenwater, Bobby Bartley, Jersey Joe Page, Steve Wiley, Leak Miller, Thomas Jones, Billy White, Shawn McPherson, and Shane McPherson. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with Tim McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery in the Sulphur Lick Community.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, June 2 starting at 4 PM. Visitation will continue on Sunday, June 3 from 7:30 AM until service time at 2 PM. Memorials are suggested to White Cemetery and Hosparus of Southern Kentucky and can be made at the office of Strode Funeral Home.
