Terry J. Hruz, 76, of Berlin Heights, passed away in his home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Terry was born on November 20, 1941 in Bellaire, OH. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served as a medic.

Terry worked as a plumber/pipefitter for the Ford Motor Co. Lorain Plant, UAW Local 425, for 32 years, and the Avon Lake Plant, Local 2000, for four years. Terry was an avid reader, loved doing sudokus, playing cards, sports, especially NASCAR, traveling, and being in and around nature. He loved his family and friends beyond measure and will be deeply missed.

Terry is survived by his wife of 22 1/2 years, Phyllis S. Hruz; sons, Thor Hruz, of Lorain, Scott (Marian) Stillwell, of Perrysburg, and Carl (Tammie) Stillwell, of Greenwich; seven grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Frame, of Tenn. ; two nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Lois (nee Allen) and Francis Kempa; birth father, Joseph Hruz; and son, Ty Hruz.

At Terry’s request, he will be cremated. Friends may call from 11 a.m. on Friday, May 4 until memorial services begin at 1 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave. , Sandusky.

Jim Bartow will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in Terry’s name to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky OH 44870. Condolences and gifts of sympathy may be shared with the family by visiting toftfuneralhome.com.
