Thelma A. Ernst, 90, of Pioneer, formerly Watsontown, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018, at Watsontown Health & Rehab Center, with her family and friends by her side. Born June 17, 1928 in Watsontown, she was the daughter of the late Earl L. and Pauline (Lahman) Gresh. She was married to Walter L. Ernst, until his passing on June 1, 1997.

Thelma was a 1945 graduate of Watsontown High School. She worked in various restaurants and retired in 1998 from Milton Developmental Services. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Watsontown.

Thelma was known for her cooking and baking. Surviving are her four sons: Larry L. Young and his wife Stephanie, of Watsontown, Jeffrey L. (Ruthann) Young, of White Deer, Lorne L. Ernst and his wife Allison, of Milton, and Eric E. (Sue) Ernst, of Pioneer; six grandchildren: Derek Young, Zachary Young, Megan Ernst, Lonni Ernst Dancy, Lisa Haas, and Ethan Ernst; two great-grandchildren: Skylar Young, and Baby Jack Haas; one brother: Jacob Gresh, of Watsontown; and one sister: Rose Patton, of Watsontown. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son: Ernie E. Ernst; brother: Earl Gresh Jr.; and a sister: Ruth Patterson.

Family and Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 602 Main St, Watsontown, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Shawn McNett, Trinity United Church of Christ Strawberry Ridge, officiating. Burial will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions in her memory be made to North Central Sight Services, 2121 Reach Rd, Williamsport, PA 17701.
