Obituary for Thelma Jean Moore Frankfort – Thelma Jean Kemper Moore, age 85, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018, in Louisville. Services for Mrs. Moore will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Hager officiating.
Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time on Wednesday. Mrs. Moore was born in Shelbyville, Kentucky on December 19, 1932, to the late Henton Wells Kemper, Sr., and Sarah Catherine Heaton Kemper.
She was united in marriage to Ray Bryan Moore, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of West View Baptist Church. She retired from Kentucky State Government Department of Medicaid, and owned and operated several restaurants and daycare centers throughout her life.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Henton W. Kemper, Jr., and Jewell T. Kemper. She is survived by her children, Trinta Z. Cox, Elsie L. Whisman (Billy), Rebecca J. Tennill, Ann E. Nolin (Allen), Douglas W. McGaughey, and Keith A. McGaughey (Sandy); sister, Betty Stasuik; and grandchildren, Dana Z. Garlove, Justin L. Zachary, Lori A. Ehret, Rebecca L. Falor, Warren K. McGaughey, Chris M. Waford, Jason H. Whisman, Gabriel K. Mayes, Joshua B. Mayes, Bryan N. Nolin, Jamie A. Nation, Leslie B. Raisor, Brandy R. McGaughey, Sommer J. McGaughey, and John D. McGaughey; and niece, Joy McClanahan. She was also blessed with 29 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be her 8 grandsons. Honorary pallbearer will be Brian Hedden. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
