Obituary for E. Joyce “Bea” Nash Frankfort- Ethelyn Joyce “Bea” Gardner Nash, age 93, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Masonic Homes of Shelbyville. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Brad Hockensmith officiating, assisted by Elder Danny McGaughey.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. service time on Tuesday. Mrs. Nash was born in Frankfort on December 23, 1924, to the late Arthur Shy and Emma Howard Gardner.
She was united in marriage to John Thomas Nash, who also preceded her in death. She retired as a Supervisor from South Central Bell after 45 years of service. She was a faithful member of Evergreen Baptist Church, where she enjoyed many years teaching Sunday school.
She enjoyed traveling, doing crafts with her sister, and time spent with her family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Robert “Jiggs” Gardner, George “Buster” Gardener, Flora Peggy Knight, Lillian “Ikie” Bradley and Edythe “Babe” Harrod and by her beloved poodle, “Little Boy”. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Lynn Sorrell (Larry); grandson, Jonathon Sorrell (Crystal); and great grandchild, Cadence Marie Sorrell.
She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathon Sorrell, Bobby DiRaimo, Barry Knight, Eddie Knight III, Scott Gardner and Keith Nash, Jr. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or God’s Plentiful Pantry at Choateville Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
