Obituary for Louise Quarles Frankfort – Hazel Louise Phipps Quarles, age 90, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, in Frankfort. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, July 2, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Richard Mardis officiating.
Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018, and from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. service time on Monday. Mrs. Quarles was born in Paint Cliff, McCreary County, Kentucky on September 26, 1927, to the late John Elmer and Lottie Jane Litton Phipps.
She was united in marriage to her husband, Thomas Church Quarles, Sr., who also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Swallowfield Church of Christ. Above all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Wilda May Phipps, Charles Edward Phipps, Alma Lee Martin, and Billy Ray Phipps. She is survived by her children, Thomas Church Quarles, Jr., (Eloise), David Allen Quarles (Kyra), Jeffrey Charles Quarles, and William Scott Quarles (Laura); siblings, Anna Ruth Howd, Ella Faye Snead, Bonnie Jean Trammel, and Brenda Jo Hamilton; grandchildren, Crystal Harrod, J.D. Quarles, Rebecca Roberts, Matthew Quarles, John Brooks Quarles, Bennett Quarles, Rhett Quarles, and Virginia Quarles; and by 13 great-grandchildren. She was also blessed with several special friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, and granddaughter, Rebecca Roberts. Flowers are welcome and expressions of sympathy may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care or Swallowfield Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
