Therese’s Obituary Merrimac: Therese M. (Marisseau) Cormier, 91 a resident of Merrimac since 1992 and a former longtime resident of Haverhill, died February 21, 2019 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Valmore and Emilie (Deveau) Marisseau and attended Saint Joseph Grammar School. A member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1945, Mrs. Cormier was first employed in the local shoe industry.

She took time away from the workforce to raise her children and later returned to work at Chaucer Leather in Haverhill. At the time of her retirement, Mrs. Cormier was working as an assembler at A T & T Technologies. A longtime member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish of Haverhill, Mrs. Cormier was also a life member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Society.

While living in Merrimac, Mrs. Cormier was a member of the Church of the Nativity of Holy Redeemer Parish, The Merrimac Council on Aging, and the Senior Bowling League at Leo’s Bowling Lanes. She was also a former volunteer at the Merrimac Senior Citizen’s Center and leaves behind many dear friends and associates at the center. An avid reader, Mrs. Cormier was content to sit on the rocking chair of her porch and keep track of the activities on Lake Attitash.

She also enjoyed bowling and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Predeceased in 2007 by Armand A. Cormier, her loving husband of fifty-four years, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Raymond A. Cormier and his companion, Linda Fitzpatrick of Methuen, her two daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene T. and Richard Linehan of Atkinson, NH and Clarisse M. and Walter Brousseau of Merrimac, a sister, Bertha Bonin of Haverhill and a sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Rosario Urso of Bradford, three grandchildren, Raymond A. Cormier and his wife Kristin of Jasper, Georgia, Sherry M. Walker of Haverhill and Dennis Demonceau and his wife, Jessica St. Amand of Haverhill, great grandchildren, Kylie Walker, Lillie Walker, Devin Demonceau, Mason Demonceau and Kassidy St. Amand, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Marisseau, sisters, Mary Motard, Madeleine Gray and Anita Ouellett, and grandchildren, Julie Brousseau and Roland Demonceau.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Schissel of Lahey-Amesbury for his wonderful care and friendship extended to Mrs. Cormier, as well as the doctors and nurses and aides of Lahey-Hitchcock Medical Center, Burlington and the staff of the High Pointe Hospice House for the kindness and compassionate care given to Mrs. Cormier during her final illness. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Cormier’s Calling Hours and Life Celebration to be held on Monday, February 25, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill.

Interment will take place in the spring in Saint Joseph Cemetery Columbarium. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Saint Vincent de-Paul Society of All Saints Parish. To send a message of condolence to the family, please visit www.
