Boardman- Thomas Stephen Bartos, 66, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 in Boardman. Tom was born on December 24, 1951, to Thomas J. and Anne (Lukas) Bartos of Campbell, OH. He graduated from Ursuline High School in 1969 and went on to the St. Elizabeth’s nursing program, a bachelor’s in nursing at Kent State College, and master’s specializing in trauma nursing at the University of Pittsburgh.

His nursing career spanned numerous hospitals, including Southside Hospital and Northside Hospital in Youngstown, Robinson Memorial in Ravenna, and travel and agency nursing across the Midwest. Tom loved working in his yard and tending to his vegetable garden. His tomato harvest was always appreciated by friends and neighbors.

He was an enthusiastic traveler, having recently gone to destinations like Greece, France, and Germany. An avid cyclist, Tom for many years participated in the Bike MS: Buckeye Breakaway ride, raising money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Tom is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Bartos.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Bees) Bartos; his children, Rebecca (Bartos) Kohm, David Bartos, and Michele Bartos; and step-son A.J. Fortunato; and six grandchildren, Nicholas, Katherine, and Brady Kohm and Nora, Isabella, and Henry Bartos. The family will be holding a private service.
