Gorman, of Ridgewood, peacefully passed on December 18, 2018 at the age of 77. Son of Thomas J. Gorman and Virginia Ott, he grew up in Brooklyn and then lived in Queens before moving to Ridgewood in 1976. Tom had a distinguished career as a fiduciary tax accountant working in the Twin Towers at Fiduciary Trust Co. before forming his own company, Omega Fiduciary Systems.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Patricia; three sons, Tom, Andrew, and Brian; daughters-in-law, Maggie and Christine; five grandchildren, Sean, Hagan, Shea, Drew, and Hope; brother-in-law, Daniel; sister-in-law Martha; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Marion, Robert and Edna, Eugene and Karen; and sister, Virginia. He proudly served his country as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army and was a volunteer youth sports coach when his children were young.

He enjoyed vacations in Europe and New England, and being surrounded by his family at Woodloch family resort. He loved reading books on history and always had classical music playing in the background. He had a strong belief in his Catholic faith.

Visiting hours will be held Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, 306 E. Ridgewood Ave. in Ridgewood. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt.

Carmel in Ridgewood on Saturday at 9:30am and interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund or Christian Health Care Center. www.
