Thomas’ Obituary WANDREY SR. , Thomas J. – of Burton, age 81, passed away February 16, 2019 at Heartland Healthcare Center – Briarwood Manor. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd.

, Davison, MI 48423; Bob Ray officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for a memorial bench to be placed at Bentley Junior High. Thomas was born in Michigan City, IN on June 26, 1937, son of the late Edward and Elma (Schwager) Wandrey. He is now reunited with his wife, Shirley, who preceded him in death on April 11, 2017 after 50 years of marriage.

They were united in marriage on June 24, 1967. Thomas graduated from Niles High School. He then graduated from Michigan State University, where he studied 33 hours past his Master’s Degree.

Thomas was a junior high teacher for Bentley Community Schools for 32 years. He was a train fanatic and enjoyed all things about trains. Most of all, he loved doing things with his children and grandchildren.

Thomas is survived by his sons, Thomas J. (Terijo) Wandrey, Jr., and Timothy J. (Melissa) Wandrey; grandchildren, Tyler (Madeline) Gallaty, Aidan Johnson, Alexa Johnson, Allie Wandrey, Lily Johnson and Rose Johnson; dog, Casper; cat, Kitty.
