Obituary for Thomas Richard Quermann Thomas Richard Quermann, 93, of Marietta, GA, formerly of Huntington Station, NY, peacefully passed away on November 9, 2018. Thomas was born in Crystal City, MO on September 26, 1925. He grew up in Clarksburg, WV, and lived most of his life in Huntington Station, NY.

He was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he grew to become an accomplished engineer with numerous patents in gyroscope design. He spent a majority of his career employed by Sperry Corporation and Unisys with a brief time at Gyro Mechanisms. Thomas was a devoted husband and father.

He also enjoyed many hobbies in his spare time, especially building and flying model airplanes where he won numerous awards. He enjoyed playing table tennis, drawing and painting. He is survived by his son, Walter Quermann and his wife Mindy of Marietta, GA; Grandchild, Chad Quermann.

Mr. Quermann is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Ann Quermann; son, Tom Quermann, and brother, Ken Quermann. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Powder Springs, GA. In lieu of flowers the family would like contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
