Tommie Lenora Lampkin Olsen Ledford passed away peacefully on March 18, 2019. She was born in Houston, TX to Thomas and Daisy Lampkin, both of whom preceded her in death along with her husband, Mike Ledford and sisters: Daisy Borsche and Malvina McElroy. Tommie loved helping people and for over three decades she was a successful realtor; she was instrumental to many people in finding the perfect home.

Tommie owned and operated her own real estate company, Real Estate Unlimited. After tremendous growth, she sold her company to Barbara Hensley to be able to help more people realize their dreams of home ownership and business development. She still worked with Barbara Hensley Realtors and Tommie loved to show property in the Rockwall area.

She truly enjoyed seeing a sleepy suburb like Rockwall grow into its own vital and economical city and she was proud to be a part of that growth. Tommie believed in getting to know people so that she could better serve them and her vivacious and generous personality made her a great realtor (and a friend! ) to her clients.

Her ability to match clients’ expectations with the perfect house and property enabled many dreams to come true. After Barbara Hensley Realtors teamed up with Coldwell Bankers, Tommie continued to work and show homes and then decided the time was right to retire to enjoy traveling and her other interests such as her love for painting. Tommie was a talented artist in oils and watercolors and she was a member of the Rockwall Art League as well as the Southwest Watercolor Society.

She visited many places all over the world and her eye for beauty and artistic talent allowed her to paint the images that she remembered so fondly. Her incredible ability to capture a scene in her paintings helped her family and friends feel as if the painting was real. A loving mother, devoted wife and loyal friend, Tommie will be missed by all who knew her.

Tommie leaves to cherish her memory her daughters: Kris Brown and husband Michael, of Poetry, TX, Tammy Poe of San Antonio and Gayle Wolfe of San Antonio; grandchildren: Ian Brown and Langlee Brown of Poetry; Wade Poe and wife, Jess, of Houston; Mallory Poe of San Antonio; great grandson, Bradley Poe of Houston as well as numerous nieces, nephews, several other extended family members and a host of friends. Funeral service for Tommie will be at 2:00pm, Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with a reception and time to visit for friends with family immediately following her service.
