Tonya L. Lewis, 54, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:23 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Columbus Regional Hospital. A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev.

Edward Wooddell will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Born November 23, 1964, in Hamilton, OH, Tonya was the daughter of Lester and Norma Jean (Nowlin) McConnell, Jr

She graduated from Jac-Cen-Del High School and was employed at American Axel and Manufacturing. She loved gardening with flowers, hummingbirds and spending time with her grandchildren and animals. Tonya is survived two daughters, Rachel Lewis of Osgood and Danyel Lewis of Seymour; three sisters, Tammy McConnell of Lawrenceburg, Terri Mayberry of North Vernon and Lori Herbert of SC; four brothers, Thomas McConnell of Versailles, Timothy McConnell of Milan, Kenny McConnell of Rexville and Kevin McConnell of Napoleon; and four grandchildren, Alexia Coomer, Hanah Owens, Ayden Lewis and Haley Owens.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue.
