Vincent’s Obituary Diamond Point — With heavy hearts, we have to say goodbye to our husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend to so many. Vincent T. Varley Sr. passed away peacefully in his home of heart failure only a few days before Christmas. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born in Manhattan on February 21, 1948, he was the son of the late Wilfrid G. and Mary A. (Mahoney) Varley. Raised in Westchester County, NYC, Vinny grew up with 10 siblings. In January, 1967, he enlisted into the United States Army, serving overseas in Vietnam before his release from active duty the following year.

Vinny was honorably discharged in January, 1973. For many years, Vinny worked for Hartsdale Fire Co., selflessly risking his own safety to protect others. In his retired life, Vinny enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Danny, Billy, and John, as well as many of his friends. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Linda; three sons, Jason, Chris, and Vinny; six grandchildren and one on the way; two great-grandchildren; four sisters; three brothers; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service with military honors will be private to his family at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd.
