New London – Vincentia A. Belbruno, 86, of New London died on Sunday April 22, 2018 at Beechwood Rehabilitation. Born in New London on November 12, 1931, she was one of four children of the late John and Emma Belbruno. Vincentia, or “Vinnie” to her family and friends, was a graduate of the College of New Rochelle.

She was a retired school teacher having taught in the Waterford school system for many years. She was a long-time trustee of the New London Maritime Society and member of the Dante Alighieri Society. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Paul Belbruno and Anthony Belbruno, and one sister Josepha Belbruno.

She is survived by a nephew John Belbruno, nieces Marina Cawley and Theresse Graham, along with five great nieces and nephews; and one great-great nephew. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, at theThomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave New London. The funeral procession will assemble at 9:15 A.M Saturday at the funeral home and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church New London scheduled for 10 A.M. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery New London.
