Viola’s Obituary Viola Mae Schindler, 89, of Pilot Point, TX, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 in Denton, TX. Viola was born December 18, 1929 in Tioga, TX to William and Martha (Simmel) Pelzel. She married Malvin Schindler on November 12, 1947 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Pilot Point, TX.

Viola was employed as a seamstress at Russell-Newman for over 25 years. Viola was a member of the Altar Society of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at the Shepherd’s Storehouse in Pilot Point, TX.

Viola loved dancing and playing dominoes with family and friends. Viola is survived by her four sons; Larry Schindler and wife Karen of Pilot Point, TX, Bobby Schindler and wife Donita of Collinsville, TX, Gary Schindler and wife Kitty of Henrietta, TX, and Terry Schindler of Collinsville, TX; Eleven grandchildren; Sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, David Pelzel and wife Diane of San Antonio, TX; sister, Janie Erwin and husband, Ronnie of Aubrey, TX; and her beloved cat, Lilly. Viola was preceded in death by her husband Malvin Schindler; parents, William and Martha Pelzel; and stepmother, Mary Frances Pelzel.

Rosary with visitation following will be held 6:30PM-8:00PM, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Pilot Point, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Pilot Point, TX with Fr. John Martin officiating.

Pallbearers are Jason Schindler, Nicholas Schindler, Daniel Schindler, Joe Schindler, Brad Cargile, and Steve Schindler. Interment will follow immediately at St. Thomas Cemetery in Pilot Point, TX. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Cemetery Association, 400 St. Thomas Aquinas Ave.
