Virginia Anne Buchanan, age 86, of 107 Donegal Drive, Greenwood, died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Self Memorial Hospital. She was born March 1, 1932, the daughter of William Carlyle and Ruby Banks Buchanan of Coronaca, South Carolina. She attended Coronaca Grammar School, was at 1949 graduate of Greenwood High School, and received a Business Degree from the Greenwood College of Commerce.

She began her employment at Nentex Company, but soon thereafter began work as a bookkeeper at G.E. Moore… Read More » Company, Inc., retiring in 1994 at the age of 62 ½ after 43 ½ years. She is survived by three sisters: Carlyne B. Taylor, Willie Claire B. Bowers, and Jacquelyn “Jackie” Buchanan, all of Greenwood; a sister-in-law, Kathy M. Buchanan of Coronaca; several nieces and nephews; and two devoted pets- Bailey and Taffy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, James Robert Buchanan, and a sister, Betty Buchanan Kay.

Virginia Anne was a life-long member of Coronaca Baptist Church. Services will be at 3:30 Tuesday, April 10, in the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Polatty officiating.

A private burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Coronaca. Pallbearers will be Charlie Rappleyeh, Benji Boggs, Mike Bowers, Roy Tompkins, Ron Bazzle, Parker Boggs and Lyle Buchanan. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2:30 to 3:30 immediately before the service.
