Corpus Christi – Virginia Garcia Benavides passed away peacefully October 21, 2018. She was 79. Virginia was born in Palacios, Texas on October 7, 1939 to Guadalupe (Pena) and Pablo Garcia.

She was a resident of Corpus Christi for the 57 years she was married to her husband, Tito. Virginia lived in Palacios most of her younger life. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding in death are a daughter: Barbara Benavides; her parents: Pablo and Guadalupe Garcia; sisters: Maria Rocha and Geneva Cooke; and brothers: Jesse Garcia, Romolo Garcia, Eusebio Garcia and Pablo Garcia. Survivors include her husband: Ignacio “Tito” Benavides, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; sons: Ignacio Benavides, III (Donna) of Virginia Beach, VA; Benito Benavides (Rachel), Jacinto Benavides, Arturo Benavides, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Edward Benavides (Carmen) of Woodbridge, VA; daughters: Rosalinda Castillo (Felix) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Christina Hedtke (Duncan) of Sinton, Texas; Tanya Benavides of Corpus Christi, Texas; 21 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; brothers: Tomas Garcia (Dolores) of Houston, Texas and Arturo Garcia (Lucy) of Palacios, Texas. Visitation will begin Tuesday, October 23, 2018, 9:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton.

A Funeral Talk will be held the same morning, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be Palacios Cemetery, 2:00 PM in Palacios, Texas. Arrangements and care entrusted to Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton.
