Virginia “Ginny” Mae (Cotant) Seegmiller, age 83, of LaPorte, MN, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019. She was born at home in Laporte on November 14,1935, to George and Frances (Caryl) Cotant and graduated from Laporte High School in 1953. She was married to Charles Seegmiller whom she later divorced.

She worked at Ah-Gwah-Ching nursing home for over 27 years until her retirement in 1997. She is survived by her 3 sons, James of Bemidji, MN; Rick (Karen) of Orange, CA; and John (Jeri) of Laporte, MN; 3 grandsons, Anthony, Jason, and Jeremy; 4 granddaughters, Renee, Nichole, Amber, and Jenna; 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Cotant of LaPorte, MN; and Roy (Lori) Cotant of Mora, MN; and sister, Pearl Sletten of Laporte, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Ronald “Ronnie” Seegmiller, parents, George and Frances Cotant, brothers, Harold and Dale Cotant, and Sisters, Mary Martin and Margaret Dewey.

A celebration of life for Ginny will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12 to 1 p.m. also held at Northern Peace Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeport Cemetery, Laporte, Minnesota at a later date.

Pastor Lynn Strandt will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Ginny’s care has been entrusted to the Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker, MN.
