Obituary for Virginia “Jenny” Jones Virginia “Jenny” Anne Jones, 83, of Searcy, passed away July 4, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Michigan, and was the only child of Ray and Lilly Mae Washam, who predecede her, but she always considered herself a true Southerner. Jenny was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She had a circle of precious girlfriends, including her best friend and “sister” of more than 50 years, Pat Shira. Jenny was a member of Searcy First United Methodist Church. She was a substitute teacher when her children were in school, a real estate agent, and the Office Manager at Powell Realty until she retired.

She loved to go camping and to shop and to travel with her girl friends. But mostly she loved her family and her church. Jenny is survived by the father of her children, Perry Jones; one son, Michael Jones (Marsha); three daughters, Cyndi Manor (Jerry), Merryl Boggan (Scott), and Karen Jones; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; her best friend/”sister” Pat Shira; and her precious and cherished cat, Feisty.

She was one classy lady, much loved, and will be greatly missed. Her family would like to express our love and appreciation for the loving hearts and helping hands of those at Summit Hospice for their tender care of our precious mother, most notably, Letty, Morgan, Robin, Krystal, Alicia, and Heath. Her favorite flowers were daisies, but in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Searcy First United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at First United Methodist Church in Searcy. Cremation arrangements by Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Virginia “Jenny” Jones please visit our Sympathy Store.
