Vivian “Welvilee” Anderson Worthington December 07, 1925 – March 08, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Vivian “Welvilee” Anderson Worthington, age 93, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 08, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Leroy and Viola Anderson. She was born on December 17, 1925 in Rome, Georgia.

She grew up in the Celanese Community in Floyd County and graduated from MacHenry High School. She was an All-State basketball player at MacHenry and continued to enjoy the sport, especially any good game she could find on television outside of her love for watching Wheel of Fortune. One of her favorite hobbies was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports.

She was married to Claude D. “Buddy” Worthington for 51 years and they raised two children in Cedartown. She, along with Buddy, owned Allen’s Five and Ten Cent Store on Main Street in Cedartown for 30 years. Welvilee enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking.

Outdoors was one of her favorite places to spend her time growing various flowers, watching her bird feeders and enjoying rocking on her porch. She was better known as “Grandmomma” to her family and her favorite hobby was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended Anna Kresge Methodist church for many years.

Mrs. Worthington is survived by her devoted children, Claudia Cox and Mike Worthington (Shirley); grandchildren, Stacey Little (Timmy), Cindy Dingler (Van), Todd Tillery (Brigitte), and Mikey Worthington (Libby); great-grandchildren, Dustin Little (Jeni), Dylan Little (Jenna), Laura-Ashlee Tillery, Zak Tillery, Carter Dingler, Caroline Dingler, Will Worthington, Addie Worthington, and Bo Worthington; great-great granddaughters, Joelle Little and Lynlee Little; guardian angel, Ms. Jessie Bankston. Mrs. Worthington is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude D. “Buddy” Worthington, Jr.; brothers, TP Anderson and Junior Anderson; and her son-in-law, Bob Cox. The graveside service for Mrs. Vivian “Welvilee” Anderson Worthington will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at three o’clock in the afternoon at Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev.

The family of Mrs. Worthington will receive family and friends on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from one o’clock in the afternoon until the graveside service hour at Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Mikey Worthington, Will Worthington, Todd Tillery, Zak Tillery, Van Dingler, Carter Dingler, Timmy Little, Dustin Little and Dylan Little.
