Walter Dean Brown, 85, of Seymour, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of the late Jess and Eva (Johnson) Brown. Funeral service will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 23 at 6 pm with his son, Scott Brown officiating.

A private burial with full military rights will take place at Madison Veteran’s Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday from 4 pm until time of service. He married Rosie Marie Burdick on October 10, 1953, in Fort Scott, Kansas; she survives.

Walter was a member of Reddington Christian Church. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a welder, culvert salesman and truck driver.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years; children, Gary (Nicole) Brown and Scott (Julie) Brown; grandchildren, Adam Brown, Ryan (Suz) Brown, Alexander Brown, Aaron Brown, Abbie (Spencer) Kindred, Elizabeth Brown and Evan Brown; 3 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jean Brown; and sister, Pat Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Terry Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be written to Reddington Christian Church, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
