Obituary for Wanda Lee Beard Wanda Lee Beard age 70 (just a number), gained her well-deserved wings on Oct 25, 2018. Wanda was born Aug 31, 1948 in Evansville to the late George P. and Juanita (Davis) James. Wanda was a graduate of FJ Reitz High School and attended Ivy Tech College.
She worked tirelessly for Red Spot Paints for over 15 years and many other businesses in her career with full dedication. Wanda lived life to the fullest! She enjoyed ceramics, jewelry; line dancing, country music, Elvis, singing, bingo, gardening, but most of all her family.
She was loved by so many because she gave all of herself, she put others first, she put God above all. She wore a contagious smile and her laugh was pure joy. She is safe in heaven with God and holding her husband’s hand that she has been waiting so long to do again.
She always said it’s the little things in life. She had written when she was young that she inspired to “make a name for myself”. She most definitely did!
Wanda is survived by her children, Larry Beard and his wife Farrah; Shannon Thurby and her husband Tim; grandchildren: Evan Thurby, Noah Beard, Lillian Thurby, Eliza Beard, Maddox Beard and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years and the love of her life, Lawrence Joseph Beard; her sister Paula Ann Pruitt; mother in law Dorothy Beard; her father in law Sheridan Beard and her beloved dog Sandberg. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rev.
John Brosmer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 5:00 PM.
Friends may also visit with the family from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at St. Boniface Church. In lieu of making a memorial contribution or donation to a charity, Wanda would be most happy if you would simply do a kind deed for someone. Condolences may be made online at www.
