Waylon made his journey to the Spirit World on September 21, 2018 at the Bennett County Hospital in Martin, SD. Waylon is survived by his children, Leon Plumman, Triston Swift Hawk, Kianna “Kiki” Swift Hawk, Maggie Swift Hawk, Trenton Chipps, Marcki Randall, Jaylynn Bernie, Michael Bernie, Jalissa McBride, Oscar Bernie, Joe Bernie, Wicaphi Mathis, Kaydence Bernie, and Abigail Bernie; granddaughter, Nakita Plumman; brothers, Eugene Swift Hawk, Jr., Dennis Swift Hawk, Cody Poor Bear, Mateo Cante, Effrin Aguilara, Monty Blackberg, Carl Moran, and Butch Standing Bear; special aunt, Phyllis Swift Hawk; hunka mothers, Judy Sorsell and Marilyn Barrios; sisters, Geraldine Swift Hawk, Stephanie Waters, Julia Rosebud, Emma Swift Hawk, Lucille Crane, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Waylon was preceded in death by his parents, Roselind Poor Bear and Eugene Swift Hawk, Sr.; daughter, Nykita Swift Hawk; sister, Kayla Poor Bear; brother, Matthew Swift Hawk; grandparents, Edith Cutt, Raymond Poor Bear, Florence Hawk Wing, and Stephen Swift Hawk. Pallbearers will be Mateo Cantu, Effrin Aguilara, Monte Blackberg, Carl Moran, Redboy Means, Chester Bowman, Tim Taggert, and Kyle Taggert.
