Wendell Keith Wonders, 77, of Middletown, died at 8:05 AM Thursday, January 24, 2019, surrounded by family at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born January 29, 1941, in Burlington, he was the son of Ray Anderson and Kathryn Leila Callaway Wonders. Keith worked as a sheet metal fabricator, construction, and most recently retired from working in mechanical maintenance for the IAAP.

After retiring, he wintered in Arizona for many years. He attended Mediapolis High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving from August 26, 1954 until August 25, 1964. Keith was a quiet, laid back, simple man that loved cruising in his cars; working on them, and showing them off at car shows.

He enjoyed tinkering in the garage with his buddies. He was very skilled in several other things as well, ranging anywhere from plumbing to electrical wiring. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and fish fries.

Survivors include his children Bryan C. Wonders of TX, Tara (Kip) Weatherly of Albion, IA, and David (Ranea) Wonders of Albion, IA; his significant other, Marlo Schulte; three grandsons, Jared Wonders, Cole Weatherly, and Tony Weatherly; two granddaughters, Nicole Wonders and Charlotte Wonders; and three great-granddaughters, Peyton Keigley, Scarlett Laffoon and Nova Clayton. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dennis; and one son, Randy. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.

Per the families wishes, services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for his family.
