Kenneth A. Weinreich, 71, of Burlington, died at 9:20 AM Monday, January 7, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. Born April 27, 1947, in Burlington, he was the son of David Edward and Janice Merideth Weinreich. On June 7, 1970, he married Judith “Judi” Ann Schwenker in Burlington.

Ken worked for Champion Spark Plug for 13 years. He then owned and operated Treasures Restored for 20 years. Ken was currently employed as a driver for Hy-Vee Pharmacy.

He was a 1965 graduate of West Burlington High School. Ken was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – SS. John & Paul Catholic Church.

He enjoyed camping, woodworking, and watching football – especially his favorite teams the Bears, Hawkeyes and LA Dodgers. He also liked to watch NASCAR; his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. Ken enjoyed taking RV trips with his wife, Judi, and their circle of friends to many places in the United States over the years.

Ken cherished his family, his girls were his world. He loved his friends and family pets and spending time with them. His dog Eleanor was his “top priority”.

Survivors include wife, Judi of Burlington; two daughters, Michele (Ron) Willson of Burlington, and Shawna Weinreich of Denver, CO; one grandchild, and apple of his eye, Merideth Willson; sisters-in-law, Joyce, Deb, and Melissa Schwenker and Connie Weinreich; brothers-in-law, Terry, Joel, and Mike Schwenker; and many special nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Merv Weinreich; grandparents, Helen and Hugh Merideth; in-laws, Edwin and Millie Schwenker; brothers-in-law, Tom and Randy Schwenker; and sister-in-law, Dori Schwenker. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Ken will be 6:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.
