Virginia Ann Shelledy, 95, of Burlington, died at 4:36 AM Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born July 5, 1923, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Fredric Godfreit and Ida Mary Bohnenkamp Buechel. On August 30, 1941, she married Robert Benedict Weiler in Burlington.

Robert passed on April 6, 1970. In 1972, she married Dale Shelledy. Dale passed in 1986.

Virginia was a member of Divine Mercy Parish-SS. Mary & Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and completing crossword puzzles.

Virginia loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Mike (Kathy) Weiler of Tequesta, FL and David (Modesta) Weiler of Stuart, FL; two daughters, Kathi (Jim) Heinzel of Gulf Port, MS and Carole Nordstrom of Burlington; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both her husbands, her parents, one daughter, Barbara Oetken, son, Larry Weiler, granddaughter, Lisa Bracey, five brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM where the family will receive friends Monday, March 11, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral for Virginia will be 2:00 PM Monday, March 11, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with the Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz as the Celebrant.

A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the service. Cremation will be entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory following the service. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
