Arlene M. Bardon, 94, of Burlington, died at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington. Born March 22, 1924, in Keokuk, she was the daughter of Frank and Dora Howell. On April 16, 1945, she married Milton Bardon in Keokuk.

Milton passed away on January 18, 1987. Arlene worked at Security State Bank of Keokuk, Farmer’s Merchants Bank and People’s Drug Store. Arlene loved ballroom dancing, reading, crossword puzzles, making gowns and blankets and traveling.

She was involved with the Hot Lunch Program of Notre Dame High School, Altar and Rosary Society, Eucharistic Minister and Birthright. Survivors include one daughter, Margaret (Patrick) Walker; two grandchildren, Dawn Reagan and Laura Moreno; two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Frank Howell Jr. The family will receive friends prior to the service.

The funeral service for Arlene will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Burlington.

A memorial has been established for Birthright of Burlington and Divine Mercy Parish-SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church.
