Wilbert M. “Junie” Pedrotty, Jr., age 91 of Massillon, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018. He was born in Brewster, Ohio on November 17, 1926 to Wilbert M., Sr. and Della (Plunkett) Pedrotty. Junie was a graduate of Washington High School where he played for the Tigers for three years in the 1940’s.

He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Cowpens (the Mighty Moo). He then went on to work for and retire from Ohio Edison after 40 years of service where he was a Senior Specialist. Junie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as an acolyte and usher for many years.

His wife Ida has been a member for 88 years. His family and faith came first. He loved yard work and golfing.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Gilbert Pedrotty and Paul Pedrotty. He is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Ida (Pizzini) Pedrotty. They were married on October 18, 1947, their children, Dennis (Donna) Pedrotty, Pamela (Joe) Studeny, Gregory (Jodi) Pedrotty and Lori (Dave) Stuart, their grandchildren, Dr. Dawn Pedrotty, M.D, PhD, Niki (Kyle) Rotthoff, Michael (Emily) Studeny, Gavin (Kathryn) Pedrotty , Dr. Kurt (Cynthia) Pedrotty, M.D., Adam (Sara) Studeny and Casey Jo Stuart and their great grandchildren, Audrey and Addison Studeny, Matthew and Dilynn Pedrotty, Camilla Fine, Madison Pedrotty and Garrett Pedrotty and Sabelle and Selene Rotthoff and Henry Studeny.

Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Dolores Snell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 12th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Raymond Paul officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph of Massillon, or Aultman Hospice, 2821 Woodlawn Road NW, Canton, OH 44708.
