OBITUARY Wilda M. “Woody” Borah September 1, 1926 – October 13, 2018 Wilda M. “Woody” Borah, 1926-2018. Woody, “that funny little lady” passed into the light on Saturday, October 13th, after enduring many years of health struggles. She was a devoted Mother to Pamela S. Borah (Finchville, KY) and Sandra L. Borah (Nashville, TN) who she fondly referred to as her “two little meices who I loved to pieces”.

She is the sister of Donald Gene Mason (Lexington , KY), and grandmother to Micelle Attardi. Woody will be fondly remembered as a gymnastics instructor to many a young lady in the Louisville community as she taught gymnastics at the Jewish Community Center for more than a decade. She also enjoyed helping to prepare lots of girls for their cheerleading try-outs with much fun and success.

Some will remember her as the University of Louisville’s No. 1 basketball fan, supporter and enthusiast, sitting front row center court all her life. The TV cameras often caught her animated antics for presentation on the evening news sports broadcast.

She could certainly draw the camera’s eye. Woody took it upon herself to become Head Timer and volunteer coordinator for Lakeside Swim Club where she ran an efficient if not lively timer’s “pool” at the annual OVC meet for a decade. She also excelled in sports and took pride in being President Emeritus of Ten Pin Bowling League and President of the Cherokee Golf Club.

She also worked as Secretary for UofL’s Physics Department for many years. As a younger person in Ohio County she ran track and competed in roller skating contests. Woody will remain known for her zany jokes and dance floor talents, both of which she delivered with great enthusiasm.

But to those who knew and loved her best, she exhibited a heart of gold and loyalty to others and was a champion dog lover. She leaves us to reunite with her beloved dogs Zeppelin, Sir Winston, and Lady Roxy. She also leaves behind a great void to those who loved her so very dearly.

Woody was preceded in death by her former husband, Harold R. “Bob” Borah and her brothers, Jesse Stant Mason (Indianapolis, IN) and George B. Mason (Owensboro, KY). Visitation will be 11-2pm on Saturday, October 20th with a service starting at 2pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
