Obituary for Willard I. Brophy Willard I. Brophy, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2018, in Yuba City, California. He was born April 21, 1927, to Frank and Margaret (Binninger) in Marysville, California. On February 2, 1947, he married his beloved wife Thais Hasche.

Willard worked as a line foreman for PG&E in Marysville, retiring after 40 years of service. In addition to being the “Best Grandpa in the World,” he was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and ardent baseball enthusiast, who played, along with his twin brother Wilbur for the Marysville Giants. Willard was a proud WW II Navy veteran whose service as a Seaman First Class was spent in Occupied Japan.

Survivors include his daughters, Marcelene Moore (Ron) and Leslie Leder (John) of Sacramento; grandchildren, Ronald, John and Amy (Chris); great-grandchildren, Chloe, Zoe, Liam, Audrey and Jack; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, one grandson, Willard Moore; and his brother. Funeral services for Willard will be at Ullrey Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 22, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Manuel Ponce officiating.
