William B.”Bill” Eck, 74, of Muncy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport. Born April 4, 1944 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Oscar J. and A. Lorene (Thompson) Eck. On June 20, 1964 he married the former June E. Anstadt, who survives.

Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage. Bill was a 1962 graduate of Williamsport High School. He was a very talented musician and taught guitar and keyboard lessons for 42 years.

During that time, Bill also worked at Diversified Treatment Alternative (DTA), Lewisburg, as a Bible teacher, counselor and guitar teacher. He also worked at the Muncy State Prison as an Artist-in-residence and a Choir Director. Believing strongly in his Christian faith, Bill attended Community Baptist Church, Montoursville.

He also served for several years as a preaching Elder at another local church. Bill was not only talented as a musician, but also a fine artist. He enjoyed painting as well as writing music.

In his free time he loved tying flies, fly fishing, and shooting different guns, including air rifles. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Charles Ferringer, and Vikki and Ernest Burrows, all of Muncy; a daughter-in-law, Toni Eck, of Barbours; one sister, Lori Eck, of Huntersville; 10 grandchildren, Charles Jr. (Kate), Meeghan (Gyungtak), Irelynn, Eammon, Henley, Dakota (Hailee), Molly, Melanie, Cory and William III; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, William “Billy” Eck Jr. The family is planning a Memorial Service to be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 11 at Community Baptist Church, 1853 State Rt.

87, Montoursville. Friends are welcome to greet the family from 4:30 to 6 p.m. prior to the service. A private committal will be held in Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Baptist Church, 1853 State Rt. 87 Montoursville, PA 17754. The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
