Obituary for William “Bill” C. Harrison William “Bill” C. Harrison, 87, beloved father and grandfather passed away at St. Vincent Regional Hospital on January 7, 2019. He was born Dec. 23,1931 in Toledo, Ohio to George and Gladys (Jones) Harrison.

He proudly served his country in the Navy from January 1948- December 1951. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors with close to 40 years of service. Bill enjoyed playing Euchre where he was a fierce competitor, especially with his siblings and was a talented artist who enjoyed winters in Gulf Shores.

He married Carolyn Reno on September 20, 1952 for 46 years before her death. Bill will be greatly missed by his sister, Martha Sinclair Harris; loving companion, Iris Parker; children, Debbie (Rick) Allman, Diane (Kevin) Smith, Donna (Dan) McLaughlin, William (Tammy Hurst) Harrison; grandchildren, Michael (Casi) Harrison, Brittani McLaughlin Pomeroy, Ryan (Kristine) Smith, Ashley Harrison, Eric Smith, and Chris (Morgan) Hurst; great grandchildren, Brady, Kailyn and Laikyn Harrison, Clayton Pomeroy, Aubrey Harrison and Zayn Hammond, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Oaklie and Sara Litha Reno; wife, Carolyn Harrison; brothers, Vere and Warren Harrison; great-granddaughter, Taylor Marie Pomeroy, and many close friends.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to thank St. Vincent 5th Floor medical personnel and Hospice. Per his wishes, private graveside services for family and friends will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at 1:00pm at Grovelawn Cemetery with Dustin Ritz officiating followed by military honors.
