William E. “Butch” Collins, 79, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday June 5, 2018 at 3:12 am in The Waters of Greencastle. He was born March 8, 1939 in Terre Haute to Lyle Collins and Esther (Beddow) Collins. Butch retired in 1977 from the US Navy, which he joined after graduating from Indiana State University Lab School in 1957, where he served two tours in Vietnam, and he then went on to retire from Lee Allen Bryant as maintenance supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille “Lucy” (Gehlhausen) Collins; daughters, Heather Robertson of Rockville, Teri Nelson (Dell) of Ocala, FL, and Amanda Smith (Christopher) of Wareham, MA; sons, Michael Collins (Denise) of Wadsworth, IL and Jeffrey Bell (Teri) of Terre Haute; a sister, Carole Laucevicius of Indianapolis and 11 grandchildren. Per Butch’s cremation is scheduled with a Celebration of Life at a later date. DeBaun Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
