William E. “Bill” Paplinski, 75, of Frankfort, died Saturday at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. A native of New Kensington, PA, he retired as a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy and worked as Division Director for the Kentucky Library System. Bill graduated from Norwalk High School, Norwalk, Ohio, earned a BS from Kent State University, and a MA from University of Rhode Island.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Frankfort, and enjoyed reading, playing checkers, and was an avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Paplinski; son, Aaron Paplinski; daughter, Ilse Paplinski (David Silvernell); brother, Richard (Linda) Paplinski, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alta and Chester Paplinski.
