William “Steve”‘s Obituary William Steven “Steve” DeWitt, 62, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at his home. Steve was born November 12, 1956 in Moore County, a son of the late John Gary & Ada Pusser DeWitt. He was a longtime produce farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Edward, David, Phillip, Harry and Larry. Surviving are his children, Stevie DeWitt of Thomasville, William DeWitt of Lexington; grandchildren, Matthew Burrell, William DeWitt, Jr., Austin DeWitt, Collin DeWitt, Lieutenant; sisters, Anne Lomax (Raymond) of Jackson Springs, Jeanette Carr (Hap) of Clemson, SC; his companion, Hazel Perrell of Lexington and the children’s mother, Debra Spruell of Georgia. A gathering of friends will be from 2-4 pm Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe.
