William Vance “Bill” Latimer, age 88, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 3, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Waverly, Tennessee on September 15, 1930 to the late Roscoe and Agnes Latimer. William was a member of Mount Celo Presbyterian in Burnsville, NC.

He was also a Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served his country honorably. William was a graduate from the University of Detroit with a Bachelor degree. He is preceded in passing by a daughter, Elaine Schmidt; three sisters, Thelma Jo Baker, Mary Ann McKeel, and Rebecca Hite; and a brother Herman Bruce Latimer.

Left to cherish his memory are his four children, Anne Goetz and husband Bill of Marion, Margaret Mucaria and husband Joe of Clinton Township, MI, John Latimer and wife Rissa of Salisbury, NC, and Marian Latimer of Salisbury, NC; one brother, Charles “Woodie” Latimer of Waverly, TN; one sister, Gale Allison of Sterling Heights, MI; twelve Grandchildren; and eleven Great Grandchildren. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Mount Celo Presbyterian Church at 5275 NC 80, Burnsville, NC 28714.
