Forbes, William J. Swartz Creek, Michigan Passed away October 4, 2018 at the age of 73 years. He was born December 8, 1944 in Saginaw to the late Wilfred and Mary (Jarema) Forbes. He graduated from Arthur Hill Tech and also attended Delta College.

He was employed at J. C. Penney in Green Acres Plaza and later as an insurance adjuster. He began his career with the Saginaw Fire Department in January of 1969, where he became an arson investigator, then a dispatcher, and later retired as deputy fire marshal on June 19, 1991. Bill was a member of AA for many years.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and also enjoyed photography, bingo and metal detecting. He married Lynda Lyon on April 29, 1994. She survives him.

Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Karen Forbes of Novi; four step-children, Mark, Aimee, Richard and Jason; seven grandchildren; four sisters and one brother, Jean (Dennis) Paolini, Marge Raasch, Susan (Bill) Graham, Mary (Terry) Minard and Jim Forbes; many nieces and nephews; his former wife, Christine (Tina) Forbes. He was predeceased by his brother, Rick Forbes. Memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd.

The Saginaw Fire Department Honor Guard will conduct a Last Call of Alarm. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from on Thursday from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Salvation Army.
