Wilma’s Obituary Wilma (Banas) Ward, of Carmel, IN, formerly of Sharon, passed away under Hospice Care on February 24th, 2019 in Indiana. She was 85. As the youngest of 10 children, Wilma was born in Sharon, PA on April 1, 1933, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Sholtis) Banas.

She was a 1951 graduate of Sharon High School. On July 3, 1953, she married her classmate, Lawrence Wengler Ward in Beaufort, SC. .

He died in 1994. She is survived by her daughter, Karen L. Johnson of Florida, and two sisters, Agnes B. Conner, of Warren, OH and Irene Evans, of Uniontown, PA. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Alan Ward who died in 2013, her brothers, Edward, John, Joseph Banas and an infant brother, Steven Banas, along with sisters Helen Banas, Mary Ruggles, and Martha Shaw.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 226 W. State St., Sharon, PA 16146 or to Buhl Farm Park, 715 Hazen Rd. , Hermitage, PA 16148. Visitation on Thursday.

Feb. 28, 2019 from noon until the time of service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146. Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC, at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28th, with Rev.

Adam T. Trambley (Rector) St. John’s Episcopal Church officiating. Interment at America’s Cemetery Hermitage, PA.
