Obituary for Yvonne (Dolly) Votruba Beloved mother and sister passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan following a lengthy illness. Age 71 years. The daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Navarro, Yvonne was born February 27, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan.

She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and Bay City School of Nursing. She married Dr. John J. Votruba, her loving husband of 46 years, on January 6, 1968. He predeceased her May 22, 2014.

Dolly was employed as a nurse at Saginaw General Hospital’s Pediatric Unit and OB Department. She was a member of Holy Family Mission Church in Bay City and a faithful Roman Catholic. Dolly was an accomplished cook and won many awards.

She was a founding member of the Love to Cook Club. Surviving are one son, Anthony John and Sarah Votruba, Saginaw; one sister, Nancy Navarro, Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Patricia Votruba, Saginaw; several nieces, nephews and cousins; many dear friends including Richard Helpap. Dolly was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosalie Hogan and Mary Ann David.

Funeral Mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Holy Family Mission, 1001 N. Linn Street, (corner of Fulton & Linn Sts. ), in Bay City. Rev.

Fr. Joseph Greenwell will be celebrating the traditional Latin Funeral Mass with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.

, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and at Holy Family Mission on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Family and friends will pray the Rosary 1:00 p.m. Sunday and a Prayer Service will take place 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
