Zula Brackins Tarwater went home to be with the Lord on the day of His birth, Tuesday, December 25, 2018. She was born September 7, 1923 in the Little Cove community. She was a member of Hurst Chapel Baptist Church for over 78 years.

Over the years she taught Sunday school, led the choir, served as church treasurer, directed bible school, and cooked many meals for visiting ministers. She was preceded in death by husbands, Junior Brackins and Estle Tarwater; daughter, Barbara Jean Brackins;… Read More » son-in-law, Henry Previette; father and mother, Bruce and Vernie Myers; and sisters, Cecil McCarter and Pearl Whaley. She is survived by daughter, Charlotte Previette; granddaughter, Kim and Randy Huffaker; great-grandson, Dustin and Kacie Huffaker; great-great-grandchildren, Braden, Blakely, and Beau Huffaker; sister, Ruby Loveday; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Barbara Montgomery.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel with Rev. Jack Ogle officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 AM Saturday at Hurst Chapel Cemetery for interment with Rev.
