Abel’s Obituary Abel Robert Soares, 83 of Modesto passed away Saturday, January 5th at Turlock Nursing and Rehab in Turlock. Mr. Soares was born in Patterson and was a resident of Modesto for 28 years. He was an engineer for 55 years and was a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West and the Moose Lodge in Lodi and Turlock.

He enjoyed building model airplanes, square dancing, playing cards, traveling in his RV through the USA, going to Spring Training and was an avid sports fan. Mr. Soares is survived by his wife, Julia Soares of Modesto; daughters, Susan Aldridge of Sacramento and Julie Soares of Arizona. A Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday, January 14th at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Patterson.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 15th at Patterson District Cemetery in Patterson. Donations may be made to: Mooseheart, 155 S. International Dr., Mooseheart, IL 60539 or Native Sons Of Golden West Cleft Palate Fund, 414 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA 94102-1708. Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Patterson.
