Aileen’s Obituary Aileen Murphy Broome, age 89, passed away Thursday February 7, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, February 12, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Broome was a native of Springfield MA but lived in Georgia for many years.

She was a graduate of Florida State University and received her Masters Degree from LaGrange College. She taught for over 36 years in the LaGrange Elementary School in Troup County and Hahira Elementary School in Lowndes County. She was preceded in death by her parents William F. and Helen Kinsella Murphy and her brother Bill Murphy.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Eatonton. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Stanley F. Broome of Greensboro, her children Sharon B. Jackson of Watkinsville, Gail B. Jackson of LaGrange, Stanley F. Broome, Jr. of Douglasville, and Sandra B. Addy of Cairo; brother Edward Murphy of Atlanta, 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive. Moores Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of arrangements.
