Obituary for Alan Cataneo Alan Cataneo of South East Annadale passed away at home on Saturday July 21, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. A retired FDNY Fire Marshall, Alan also worked at Engine Company 18 in Greenwich Village. A proud Navy Veteran seeing service in Vietnam.

Alan received the National Defense medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, 2 Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Presidential Citation Ribbon with Bronze Star, The US Navy Commendation Ribbon and the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Citiation. Alan received his degree from the former College of Staten Island. He was a true ”outdoors man”, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, travelling to the Mid West, building birdhouses and photography.

Most of all he treasured the time spent with his wife and daughters. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Laurie ( Nee Bungay). His two daughters; Gabriella and Abigail Sierra.

He is also survived by his brother Jack. His parents Albert & Agnes pre deceased him. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals Inc. 28 Eltingville Blvd.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Church of the Holy Child 4747 Amboy Rd. Staten Island, NY. Committal services will be private.
