Albert “Ray” Stoute April 26, 1952 – January 04, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card PORT BARRE ~ Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas for Albert “Ray” Stoute, age 66, who passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at Senior Village in Opelousas. Interment will be in Bertrand Vasseur Cemetery in Prairie Ronde. Mr. Stoute was a native and lifelong resident of Port Barre.

He was employed with Terminix as a Technician and also was a Commercial Crawfisherman. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Barre. A veteran of the military, Mr. Stoute proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include one son, Phillip Stoute of Carencro; three daughters, Ashley Ray and her husband, Richard, of Krotz Springs, Aimee Stoute of Lawtell and Jackie Stoute of Carencro; one step-daughter, Nichole Ryder of Port Barre; one sister, Elaine Theriot and her husband, Freddie, and their children, Chad, Rebecca, John and Bryant all of Lawtell; and seven grandchildren, Hunter Ray, Mia Breaux, Cody Breaux, Zack O’Quinn, Steven Ryder, Jr., Brisen Ryder and Ethan Ryder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Stoute; and his parents, Evan Stoute and the former Rita Ozenne. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until service time on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Ray, Chad Theriot, Phillip Stoute, Richard Ray, Steven Ryder, Jr. and John Theriot. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryant Theriot and Freddie Theriot. Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas, 4708 I-49 North Service Road, (337) 407-1907, is in charge of arrangements.
